Course Overview
Data centres and ancillary infrastructure are critical capital assets in the AI era. They provide essential resources and services to big tech firms and other players in global AI value chains. The sheer volume of required financing, which is being provided in large part by private capital investors and banks co-investing with AI “hyperscalers,” is estimated to reach US$3 trillion globally by 2029.
Data centre facility development is complex, requiring ancillary services and resources such as significant power and water supply, funding for development, construction and equipment – including graphics processing units (GPU) – procurement and installation.
The majority of data centre developers and users have high ESG and sustainability standards, further increasing the intricacy of projects. Given this complexity and the large scale of data centre facility funding, financial structures are designed to fulfil development financing needs whilst meeting the requirements and expectations of bank lenders and investors. These are typically based around:
- Structured finance
- Asset-based lending
- Private equity and debt
- Bank credit provision via syndications and bilateral facilities
This comprehensive Data Centre Financing course consists of two modules, providing delegates with a full understanding of the challenges relating to data centre development and their financing. This includes:
